CHARLOTTE, N.C.- For the third consecutive week, the Florida SouthWestern State Buccaneers checked in at #3 in the NJCAA National Rankings released Monday by the National Office.
The Bucs ran their record to 30-4 on the year last week, earning a pair of wins over State College of Florida in Suncoast Conference play. FSW dominated game one 9-1 in a run rule victory over the Manatees before taking care of business 6-2 to finish off the sweep.
There was no change in the top seven in the poll in week six as Wallace State, Yavapai, FSW, Seminole State, and Odessa continued to lead the charge. Grayson, the Bucs opponent in last year's NJCAA National Championship game moved up three spots into the top 10 at #8 while Southern Idaho, one of three teams to knock FSW off this season, rose three spots to #13.
The Bucs will put their #3 ranking on the line Tuesday when they host St. Petersburg at 4 & 6 PM at City of Palms Park in Downtown Fort Myers for a key Suncoast Conference doubleheader.
