De Sa Named Bucs First FCSAA Player of the Week
After leading the Florida SouthWestern State Buccaneers to a 3-0 sweep over Palm Beach State on Friday, the Bucs’ Julia De Sa has made program history, as Tuesday she was named the program’s first FCSAA Player of the Week award winner.
TALLAHASEE, Fla.- After leading the Florida SouthWestern State Buccaneers to a 3-0 sweep over Palm Beach State on Friday, the Bucs' Julia De Sa has made program history, as Tuesday she was named the program's first FCSAA Player of the Week award winner.
De Sa hammered home 13 kills on 22 swings on Friday, hitting a season high .545 in the three set win. She also chipped in on the defensive side of the net, pulling up six digs and recording a solo block for FSW.
De Sa, who is FSW's all-time career kills leader, has built on her lead this season, averaging 2.93 kills per set, which ranks second on the team while her 2.30 digs per set is also second best on the squad.
FSW is currently 6-2 on the year and ranked 12th in the latest NJCAA National Polls.
De Sa and the Bucs are back in action tonight as they travel to St. Petersburg to take on the Titans in their 2021 Suncoast Conference opener, scheduled for a 6 PM first serve.
