Bio
Imburgia enters her fourth year as the Bucs as the Coordinator of Student Success for Intercollegiate Athletics and International Students at Florida SouthWestern State College in 2025-2026, handling all academic matters for FSW student-athletes.
Bucs student-athletes excelled during the 2024-2025 school year with a school record three players earning CSC Academic All-American honors and the FSW Volleyball team being named the 2025 FCSAA Academic Team of the Year.
With nearly a decade of experience in higher education, she brings a strong background in student support, academic advising, and leadership development—particularly with student-athletes and international students.
Before joining FSW, Kara spent five years at Lynn University in various roles across Housing, Campus Recreation, and Student Involvement. She is a proud alumna of Lynn University, where she earned her undergraduate degree and an MBA in Sports Administration. During her time there, she also competed as a member of the women’s volleyball team.
Kara is passionate about supporting students as they grow at FSW, and finds true fulfillment in seeing them graduate and chase their dreams. She’s especially inspired by the positive example student-athletes set for her own children, both on and off the field/court.
Outside of work, Kara enjoys spending time with her family traveling and on the water. She is married to her husband John and a proud mom of two future Buccaneers—both of whom love cheering on FSW Athletics.
