Red Hot Bucs Jump Into Nation's Top 10
Winners of 14 of their past 16, the Florida SouthWestern State Buccaneers jumped into the Top 10 of the NJCAA National Rankings on Monday, climbing four spots to #9 in the week six rankings released by the National Office.
CHARLOTTE, N.C.- Winners of 14 of their past 16, the Florida SouthWestern State Buccaneers jumped into the Top 10 of the NJCAA National Rankings on Monday, climbing four spots to #9 in the week six rankings released by the National Office.
The Bucs are 32-10 on the year and lead the Suncoast Conference with a 13-3 record. They went 3-0 last week, claiming a 17-1 run rule victory over Elev8 Academy Wednesday before bombing Pasco-Hernando 18-6 Friday and opening the second half of conference play with an 8-5 win over Polk on Saturday.
There was some movement inside the week six rankings, although 19 of the 20 teams remained the same from a week ago. Wabash Valley took back over the #1 spot from Central Arizona who dropped to #2, Walters State and San Jacinto stayed put at #3 and #4 and Crowder rounded out the Top 5. The Bucs were this week's biggest risers as they moved up four spots along with John A. Logan into the #9 and #10 spots from #13 and #14 a week ago.
The Bucs are one of four FCSAA teams in the week six rankings, joined by Chipola one spot ahead of them at #8, Central Florida at #13, and Santa Fe at #19.
FSW is back in action tonight as they go to Winter Haven to take on Polk State in a key Suncoast Conference contest beginning at 6 PM from Bing Tyus Yard.
