Freshman* (2021): Corpas was a regular in the middle of the Bucs order in 2021, hitting .315 with 16 doubles, 8 home runs, and 46 RBIs to earn 2nd Team All-Conference honors. He played in 56 games, registering mutiple hits in 19 of those contests.  He had a pair of hot streaks during the season, notching four straight multi-hit games to start March and then five straight in late April into the postseason.  He put together a season long 13 game hitting streak from February 12-March 6, also picking up RBIs in 9 of the 13 contests.  

Freshman (2020): Corpas was one of the top hitters for the Bucs as a freshman in 2020, finishing second on the team in hitting at .370 and RBIs with 21.  He also reached base via walk 14 times and was hit by three pitches to lead the team with a .484 on base percentage.  He had nine multi-hit games on the year including back to back three hit games in which he was 6-8 with 7 RBIs and 4 stolen bases against Elev8 Academy and ASA Miami.  

High School: Corpas played at Doral Academy where he was a 1st Team All-District and 2nd Team All-American as a senior when he hit .304 with 5 home runs and 15 RBIs.  

Personal: Born July 1, 2001, he is the son of Hector and Lucy Corpas.  He has one brother, Joseph (16).

The #9 Florida SouthWestern State Buccaneers wrapped up the best regular season by a Suncoast Conference team in at least 15 years on Wednesday, blasting the State College of Florida Manatees 14-5 to finish the regular season 40-14 overall and a sparkling 24-4 in conference play.

Besser Deals Bucs to Series Clinching Win

Sometimes relief pitchers come in and get an out to get their team out of a jam, or sometimes they throw a scoreless inning to close out a win, and then there is what Grant Besser did for the #7 Florida SouthWestern State Buccaneers Monday afternoon in Downtown Fort Myers.  Besser entered early in what was shaping up to be a shootout between the Bucs and the State College of Florida Manatees and threw five innings of sparkling relief, allowing just one run to will FSW to a 9-6 win to clinch the series win and cut the Bucs magic number for their third straight Suncoast Conference Championship to just one.

Bucs Drop Close One to End Record Streak

As the old saying goes, all good things must come to an end and the #14 Florida SouthWestern State Buccaneers found that out the hard way on Monday as the Bucs saw their program record 13 game winning streak come to an end at the hands of the #20 Polk State Eagles.  Polk used a four run 7th and held off a late rally from FSW for a 9-8 win to salvage the third game of a three game set between the Suncoast Conference's top two teams.

Defensive Blunders Prove Costly For Bucs in Loss

Through seven innings, everything was going according to plan for the #15 Florida SouthWestern State Buccaneers as they led the Pasco-Hernando State Bobcats 2-0 in their final non-conference game of the 2022 season.  From there thing went South though as the Bucs made three consecutive errors on the mound in the top of the 8th, leading to six Bobcat runs and the deficit proved too much as FSW got three back in the bottom of the frame, but eventually fell 6-5 to snap a three game winning streak.

Bucs Break Out Against Silver Storm

After dropping three straight games by a total of four runs, the #15 Florida SouthWestern State Buccaneers took out their frustrations on the ASA Miami Silver Storm Friday afternoon at City of Palms Park in Downtown Fort Myers, ripping the ASA pitching staff for 30 runs in a doubleheader to sweep the Silver Storm 17-7 and 13-8 to improve to 10-8 on the year.
