*NJCAA Division II 1st Team All-American (2021)

Freshman (2021): Ellerts transfers to FSW after playing his freshman season at Patrick Henry Community College in Virginia where he was a 1st Team NJCAA All-American a season ago.  He led the Patriots to the NJCAA DII World Series, going 10-2 with a 2.60 ERA and 141 strikeouts in 86 2/3 innings pitched on the year.  He allowed just 48 hits in those 86 2/3 innings, holding opponents to just a .155 batting average. He struck out 10 or more hitters in seven different starts including a career high 14 in 8 one-hit innings against Pasco-Hernando to kick off the postseason. 

High School: Ellerts was a 1st Team All-Region selection at Woodbridge Senior High School where he struck out 22 in 12 innings worked during an abbreviated senior season.  

Personal: Born March 16, 2001, he is the son of Magnus and Julie Ellerts.  He has a brother, Aiden (15) and two sisters, Brianna (21) and Laurel (30).

Suncoast Conference Pitcher of the Year Magnus Ellerts threw six scoreless innings and Suncoast Conference Fireman of the Year Brian Holiday threw three innings of one hit baseball to close out the shutout as the #8 Florida SouthWestern State Buccaneers cruised past the Indian River Pioneers 7-0 in game one of their best of three series to kick off the 2022 FCSAA State Tournament in Fort Myers.

The #11 Florida SouthWestern State Buccaneers jumped out to an early 7-0 lead and never looked back Friday afternoon at City of Palms Park in Downtown Fort Myers, using a strong pitching effort from Magnus Ellerts and a 13 hit attack from the offense for a 12-3 win to finish a seven game season sweep of the St. Petersburg Titans.

No-Hit Through Five, Bucs Explode Late For 16-0 Win

Through five innings Friday afternoon in Tampa, the #8 Florida SouthWestern State Buccaneers offense couldn't have been much worse as they were staring a no-hitter in the eyes in their series finale against the Hillsborough Hakws.  Out of their first 15 outs, the Bucs had nine flyouts, five strikeouts, and one groundout, but that all changed in the 6th as FSW exploded for nine runs before putting up six more in the 7th to blow the Hawks out 16-0 for their second straight Suncoast Conference sweep.

Tomaini Walks Off Titans to Complete Sweep

The #9 Florida SouthWestern State Buccaneers missed a number of scoring chances Saturday afternoon at City of Palms Park as they took on the St. Petersburg Titans, but with the game on the line, FSW's Paxton Tomaini made them forget all of them as the sophomore came through with a walk off single in the bottom of the 9th to give the Bucs a 4-3 win and complete FSW's fourth conference sweep of the season.

Bucs Tear Continues In Blowout Of Polk

Right now the #14 Florida SouthWestern State Buccaneers are a runaway train and you don't want to be downhill of the Bucs on the track. FSW won their 13th straight game overall and 11th straight in Suncoast Conference play  Saturday afternoon on the road at #20 Polk State, blowing out the Eagles 15-4 in an 8 inning run rule behind a 19 hit attack and 3 1/3 scoreless innings of relief out of the bullpen from lefty Grant Besser.

Florida SouthWestern ace Magnus Ellerts dominated for seven innings under the lights at City of Palms Park Saturday night, allowing just one hit while striking out 12 in a complete game shutout as the Buccaneers hammered the visiting Hillsborough Hawks 12-0 to complete their second consecutive Suncoast Conference series sweep.

Magnus Ellerts and Brian Holiday blanked the St Petersburg Titans 7-0 on Saturday, giving the #18 Florida SouthWestern State Buccaneers their second straight shutout victory while clinching their first Suncoast Conference series win of the early season.

Bucs Break Out Against Silver Storm

After dropping three straight games by a total of four runs, the #15 Florida SouthWestern State Buccaneers took out their frustrations on the ASA Miami Silver Storm Friday afternoon at City of Palms Park in Downtown Fort Myers, ripping the ASA pitching staff for 30 runs in a doubleheader to sweep the Silver Storm 17-7 and 13-8 to improve to 10-8 on the year.

The #15 Florida SouthWestern State Buccaneers stormed their way into Sunday's Championship game at the 2022 Perfect Game Juco Classic in Panama City, thumping #18 Florence-Darlington Tech 8-2 in their quarterfinal matchup Saturday morning and Wallace State 5-2 Saturday night to advance to the title game.

The #15 Florida SouthWestern State Buccaneers moved to 3-0 on the season on a cold night in Downtown Fort Myers as newcomer Paxton Tomaini came through in the clutch twice, including a walk off single in the bottom of the 9th to cap a 3-2 come from behind win for the Bucs over Pasco Hernando at the Marissa Gusto Memorial Tournament.

A season after having more players drafted in the Major League Baseball Draft than any other NJCAA program in the country, the Florida SouthWestern State Buccaneers seemed to have retooled just fine as Prep Baseball Report has 14 Bucs listed in their Juco Top 350 Prospects list, more than any other team in the state of Florida and the second most of any team in the country.
