Freshman* (2021): Melendez was behind the dish for 42 games for the Suncoast Conference Champs in 2021, hitting .217 with 10 RBIs and 17 runs scored. He had five multi-hit games and strung together a career high six game hitting streak April 2-21.
Freshman (2020): Melendez played in 16 games as a freshman for the Bucs before their season was cut short due to Covid-19. He started his collegiate career with a bang, quite literally, homering in his first at bat as the Bucs took on State College Florida in the Atlanta Braves' CoolToday Park. He finished the year hitting .262 with 4 doubles, the afformentioned home run, and 4 RBIs. He also threw out 3 runners on the bases behind the plate.
High School: Melendez came to FSW from Cidra, Puerto Rico where he prepped at Academia Cristiana Elohim. As a senior, he hit .300 with 2 home runs and 26 RBIs.
