Bucs Shoot Into Top 10 In Latest National Rankings
Riding a program record 13 game winning streak, the Florida SouthWestern State Buccaneers shot up five spots in the NJCAA National Rankings on Monday, jumping into the top 10 for the second time this season at #9 in the week nine poll.
CHARLOTTE, N.C.- Riding a program record 13 game winning streak, the Florida SouthWestern State Buccaneers shot up five spots in the NJCAA National Rankings on Monday, jumping into the top 10 for the second time this season at #9 in the week nine poll.
The Bucs went 4-0 last week to run their record to 25-11 on the season. FSW finished off a week of State College of Florida with 11-6 and 13-1 wins before opening their big Suncoast Conference series with Polk State with 10-2 and 15-4 wins to run their conference record to 12-2.
FSW was the biggest week five riser, jumping up five spots into the top 10 while Grayson moved up four spots to #14 and Alvin made the rise from outside the poll to #17 for the first time this season. The Bucs were one of four FCSAA squads in the poll this week as they were joined by Chipola at #5, Northwest Florida at #13, and Miami Dade at #20.
As of release time the Bucs were in action against Polk State, tied 5-5 in the 7th inning. FSW will be back in action on Wednesday at home when they open a three game series with St. Petersburg at City of Palms Park in Downtown Fort Myers.
