Bucs Continue Ascent Up National Rankings
Following a nearly perfect run in the month of March and two more wins to start April, the Florida SouthWestern State Buccaneers continued their climb up the NJCAA National Rankings on Monday, coming in at #8 in the week six poll.
CHARLOTTE, N.C.- Following a nearly perfect run in the month of March and two more wins to start April, the Florida SouthWestern State Buccaneers continued their climb up the NJCAA National Rankings on Monday, coming in at #8 in the week six poll.
FSW was 3-1 last week, including a three game sweep of St. Petersburg to move to 28-12 at the 40 game mark of the season. The Bucs won three close battles against the Titans, taking the opener 8-5, game two 3-1, and the finale 4-3 in walk off fashion in the bottom of the 9th.
FSW was the highest ranked team to move in the poll this week as the top seven stood strong with Central Arizona, Walters State, McLennan, Wabash Valley, and Chipola formulating the top five. The Bucs are in the middle of four FCSAA squads in the top 20, joined by #5 Chipola, #14 Northwest Florida State, and #19 Miami Dade.
The Bucs are in action on the road today in Tampa in the first of three straight against Hillsborough in the Big Guava.
