Redshirt (2022): Diaz redshirted last season at the University of the Cumberlands. 

Freshman (2021): Diaz played in 11 games, drawing 5 starts at the Universiy of the Cumberlands as a freshman, hitting .300 with 5 RBIs.  

High School: Diaz prepped at nearby Cypress Lakes High School where he earned four letters.  As a senior he hit .357 with 4 home runs and 30 RBIs.  

Personal: Born September 11, 2001, Diaz is the son of Pablo and Igmarie Diaz. He has a sister, Paola (19), and two brothers, Pablo (27) and Otniel (16).

FSW Splits Low Scoring Twinbill With Seminole

Despite the wind blowing out all day, runs were at a premium Saturday afternoon at Buccaneers Park as the Florida SouthWestern State Buccaneers and the Seminole State Raiders split a low scoring doubleheader with Seminole holding off the Bucs for a 5-4 win in game one before FSW walked off the Raiders in game two 2-1 for the split.

Bucs Bounce Back with Blowout Win Over Polk

The Florida SouthWestern State Buccaneers were disappointed, maybe even embarrassed Wednesday as their six game win streak was ended by A3 Academy on their home field at Buccaneers Park. Unfortunately for the Polk State Eagles, they were up next on the Bucs schedule and FSW took their frustrations out on their old Suncoast Conference rivals, scoring 10 runs in the first three innings in route to a 12-1 blowout win to improve to 11-7 on the year.

Rivera's Walk Off Highlights Opening Day Split For New Look Bucs

To say that the Florida SouthWestern State Buccaneers are a new look squad this season would be an understatement.  Of the 28 players on their 2023 roster, a grand total of zero suited up for the Bucs a season ago. After dropping a 5-3 decision to reigning FCSAA State Champs and 4th ranked Central Florida in their opener Friday, the Bucs stormed back from six down for a 7-6 extra innings win over Pasco-Hernando in their second game of the day, capped off by a walk off single from newcomer Sergio Rivera in his FSW debut.
