FORT MYERS, Fla.- The Florida SouthWestern Buccaneers pipeline to Murfreesboro, Tennessee will continue this year as sophomore righthander Abel Albarran will join Middle Tennessee State University to play with former Bucs Landen Burch and Cooper Clapp for the Blue Raiders next season.

Albarran was a 1^st Team All-Citrus Conference and 2^nd Team All-FCSAA honoree this season for the Bucs, going 6-1 with a 4.66 ERA, dialing up 68 strikeouts in a team high 75 1/3 innings pitched. He threw two complete games on the year including a one hit shutout to close out March against Daytona State. He finishes his FSW career 11-1 overall putting him second in wins and winning percentage (.917) in program history. His 129 2/3 innings pitched, 117 strikeouts, and 3 complete games also rank in the Top 10 in program history.

Albarran helped push FSW over the top of the hill this season, capturing the first Citrus Conference and FCSAA Championships in program history while also making their first appearance at the Juco World Series in Grand Junction, Colorado.

Middle Tennessee finished 23-32 this season, going 8-19 in Conference USA action. Albarran, along with Burch and Clapp will comprise an FSW trio at MTSU hoping to push the Blue Raiders to their first winning season since the 2022 campaign.

Albarran is one of five Bucs who have signed at the next level thus far, joining Brock Knoerr (Western Kentucky), Luke Orfi (Texas Tech), Nik Pereira & Josiah Velazquez (Tampa).
