FORT MYERS, Fla.- Florida SouthWestern's Nathan Fink will trade in his Purple and Aqua for the Orange and White of Sam Houston State next season after signing with the Bearkats following a big year in the middle of the Bucs lineup.
Fink played in 60 games for the Bucs this season after recovering from an injury that cost him his 2024 season. He hit .307 with 14 doubles and 10 home runs while accounting for 100 runs on the year with 42 scored and 58 driven home. He had 20 multi-hit games for the Bucs including a 3 hit, 3 RBI game in FSW's Juco World Series matchup with Blinn. He had three separate six game hitting streaks on the year including two which included three multi-hit efforts each. His hottest stretch of the year came to close out non-conference play and open up Citrus Conference action when he homered in three straight games and drove in eight runs in a pair of FSW wins over Florence Darlington and another against St. Petersburg.
In his lone season on the field for the Bucs in 2025, Fink helped FSW to a Citrus Conference Championship, an FCSAA Championship, and their first trip to the Juco World Series in Grand Junction, Colorado.
The Bearkats had a down year in 2025, going just 12-43 overall, but Sam Houston State is a proud Baseball program that has been to the NCAA Tournament as many times as it hasn't since the 2007 season.
Fink is one of seven Bucs that have signed at the Division I level this season and one of nine overall who have signed at the next level thus far, joining Abel Albarran (Middle Tennessee St.), Luke Orfi (Texas Tech), Jake Mueller & Anthony Ruocco (UNC-Greensboro), Brock Knoerr (Western Kentucky), Beau Brailey (Campbell), and Nik Pereira & Josiah Velazquez (Tampa).
