FSW Sophomore Spotlight- Michael McAloose- Northwestern State
After playing in 100 games for the Florida SouthWestern Buccaneers over the past three seasons, third baseman Michael McAloose is headed back to the NCAA Division I level after signing With Northwestern State University in Louisiana.
FORT MYERS, Fla.- After playing in 100 games for the Florida SouthWestern Buccaneers over the past three seasons, third baseman Michael McAloose is headed back to the NCAA Division I level after signing With Northwestern State University in Louisiana.
McAloose hit .336 across 40 games for the Bucs this season, rapping 10 doubles and 3 home runs while driving in 32 runs. He came up huge down the stretch, recording hits in each of the Bucs final five games of the regular season to help FSW clinch the Citrus Conference Championship, while extending that hit streak to 10 with hits in the Bucs first five postseason contests. He finished the year with 17 RBIs in the Bucs final 13 games of the year.
He heads to the bayou to play for a Demons squad that won 35 games in 2025, going 19-11 in Southland Conference play, good for a fourth place finish before making a run to the finals of the Hammond Bracket at the SLC Tournament.
McAloose is one of 10 Bucs to sign at the Division one level and 14 FSW sophomores overall who have signed at the next level, joining Devin Parks (Radford), Abel Albarran (Middle Tennessee St.), Luke Orfi (Texas Tech), Jake Mueller & Anthony Ruocco (UNC-Greensboro), Brock Knoerr (Western Kentucky), Nathan Fink (Sam Houston State), Beau Brailey (Campbell), Nik Pereira & Josiah Velazquez (Tampa), Brandon Eldridge (Gardner Webb), Carlos Sanchez (LSU-Shreveport), and Brett Dennis (Rollins).
