Bucs Ranked 6th in First Regular Season Poll
Following a 14-4 start to the 2026 season, the Florida SouthWestern Buccaneers are ranked 6th in the first NJCAA National Rankings of the year released on Monday by the NJCAA.
CHARLOTTE, N.C.- Following a 14-4 start to the 2026 season, the Florida SouthWestern Buccaneers are ranked 6th in the first NJCAA National Rankings of the year released on Monday by the NJCAA.
The Bucs are off to a 14-4 start to the year and sit in first place in the Citrus Conference standings after two weeks of action at 5-1. Their early season resume includes three wins over Juco World Series participants from a season ago with two victories against Lake Land and one over Florence-Darlington. Of their four losses this season, three have come to teams ranked either #1 or #2 in their respective National Polls.
Chipola and Walters State lead the pack in week one, both teams FSW lost close battles to earlier this season. Midland, Johnson County, and McLennan round out the top five in front of the Bucs at #6. Along with #1 Chipola, the Bucs were joined in the opening poll by one other FCSAA squad in #19 Northwest Florida.
The Bucs begin their third Citrus Conference series of the year on Thursday when they host Santa Fe in a 2 PM first pitch from Buccaneers Park in Fort Myers.
