The teams mirrored each other through the first two innings of game one of the doubleheader as both had traffic in the 1st and couldn't score and each went down in order in the 2nd to send the game to the 3rd scoreless.
The Bucs were the first to crack the scoreboard in the 4th as they took advantage of some charity from the Eastern defense with two walks, a hit batter and an error by the Titans to score two runs to take a 2-0 lead after four.
A bases loaded walk for the Bucs in the 4th extended their lead to 3-0 and a wild pitch followed by an RBI groundout for FSW made it 5-0 FSW after 4 ½.
FSW starter Anthony Wilkie finished off his best start as a Buc by striking out the side in the 5th and the FSW offense continued to add on in the 6th as Jonah St. Antoine popped a solo shot with two outs to pad the lead to 6-0.
Nicholas Lorenz took the ball out of the FSW bullpen and nailed it down from there, working around a hit batter in the 6th and striking out the side in the 7th to complete the shutout for the Bucs as they clinched the series victory with a 6-0 win in game one of the doubleheader.
Wilkie and Lorenz were equally as electric in the win for the Bucs as Wilkie went five scoreless, allowing just one hit while striking out eight to earn the win to improve to 6-1 on the year while Lorenz threw two scoreless innings of his own, striking out five to finish the Bucs first shutout of 2026. The Bucs needed just five hits on the offensive end for the win. St. Antoine had two of them and had the only extra base hit of the game for FSW.
