DAYTONA BEACH, Fla.- The #6 Florida SouthWestern Buccaneers suffered a shocking sweep on Saturday, falling twice on the road to the Daytona State Falcons, dropping game one 5-4 before being handed their first run rule loss of the season, 10-2 in game two to give the Falcons the series.
The Bucs had traffic the first two innings in game one, but strikeouts ended both threats and allowed Daytona to score the game's first run in the bottom of the 2nd as a leadoff walk came back to burn the Bucs to give the Falcons a 1-0 lead.
FSW took advantage of back to back walks to start their half of the 3rd as Aiden Talarico came through with a two run single to right to give the Bucs the lead before scoring himself later in the inning to make it 3-1 FSW at the end of 2 ½.
The Falcons got a run back in the bottom of the 3rd but FSW responded with a run of their own in their next trip to the plate as Bishop Quarles legged out an RBI double to make it 4-2.
The Bucs third leadoff walk in four innings once again came back to bite them in the bottom of the 4th as Daytona scored for the third straight inning to make it a one run game once more at 4-3 after four.
The Bucs couldn't add any insurance in the 5th and 6th innings and it came back to sting them later on as with two outs and nobody on, Daytona put together a rally in the bottom of the 6th to score a pair of runs and retake a one run lead of their own at 5-4.
