Caban Headed Back to Eastern Kentucky
After one season in the Sunshine State, Florida SouthWestern catcher Greg Caban is headed back to the rolling hills of the Bluegrass State after signing to return to Eastern Kentucky University where he began his career in 2025.
FORT MYERS, Fla.- After one season in the Sunshine State, Florida SouthWestern catcher Greg Caban is headed back to the rolling hills of the Bluegrass State after signing to return to Eastern Kentucky University where he began his career in 2025.
Caban hit .323 in 42 games for the Bucs this season, earning 2nd Team All-Citrus Conference honors with 7 doubles, a pair of home runs, and 32 RBIs on the year. He started his FSW career with a bang, recording hits in each of his first five games including three multi-hit contests. He finished the season with 11 multi-hit games including his best effort as a Buc when he was 3-4 with a pair of doubles and four RBIs in an FSW romp over Polk State in Citrus Conference action.
Caban returns to Richmond where he played in 38 games and hit .236 with 13 RBIs for the Colonels during the 2025 season as a freshman.
Caban is one of seven Bucs signed to play at the Division I level next season joining Evan Taveras (Central Florida), Nicholas Lorenz (East Carolina), Cole Greer & Robbie Demetree (Tulane), Judd Hildreth (Murray State), and Parker Burgess (College of Charleston).
