After one year with the Florida SouthWestern Buccaneers, righthander Gavin Kindell is off to the NCAA Division I level, signing with the University of South Alabama for the 2026-2027 season.
FORT MYERS, Fla.- After one year with the Florida SouthWestern Buccaneers, righthander Gavin Kindell is off to the NCAA Division I level, signing with the University of South Alabama for the 2026-2027 season.
Kindell threw in 14 games as a redshirt freshman for the Bucs this season, going 2-1 with a 5.18 ERA. He racked up 29 strikeouts in 24 1/3 innings and in three starts and 11 appearances out of the FSW bullpen. His best outing of the year came against St. Petersburg in early April when he fired four scoreless innings, striking out seven before the contest was halted due to weather.
He joins a tradition rich South Alabama program who has appeared in 28 NCAA Tournaments in program history. The 2026 Jaguars finished the regular season 33-21 overall and 17-13 in Sun Belt action, good for a third place finish.
Kindell is one of 11 Division I signees off the Bucs 2026 roster, joining Robbie Demetree & Cole Greer (Tulane), Bishop Quarles (Stetson), Greg Caban (Eastern Kentucky), Nick April-Gath (Florida International), Anthony Wilkie (Florida Atlantic), Nicholas Lorenz (East Carolina), Judd Hildreth (Murray State), Parker Burgess (College of Charleston), and Evan Taveras (Central Florida.
