CHARLOTTE, N.C.- #2 is good, but #1 is better and that is where the Florida SouthWestern State Buccaneers Men's Basketball team resides now after taking over the top spot in the NJCAA Week 11 Rankings released on Monday by the National Office.
The #1 nod for the Bucs marks their return to the top spot after spending five weeks there to close the regular season in 2019. FSW opened this season at #3 and have spent all 11 weeks inside the top 10 with four of those spent at #2 before this week's pinnacle mark.
The Bucs are in the midst of a 17 game winning streak, dating back to the day after Thanksgiving and have defeated their opponents by an average of 24 points per game during the stretch. FSW sits at 24-1 on the year and is a perfect 7-0 in Suncoast Conference play. The Bucs have been solid on both sides of the ball this season, averaging 90.5 points per game, while allowing just 67.3 per contest.
The top five in week 11 were FSW at #1, Pearl River at #2, Mineral Area at #3, previous #1 Ranger at #4, and Indian Hills again at #5. The Bucs were joined in the poll by FCSAA cohorts Gulf Coast State at #12 and Tallahassee at #15.
