Bio

High School: Blackwell comes to FSW after playing at Baldwin High School in New York where he averaged 15.5 points and 7.2 assists per game as a senior to earn All-Conference and All-County honors.  He helped lead his team to a conference championship and the sharpshooter was the winner of the Long Island 3-Point Contest in 2019.  He spent last season at Combine Academy.  

Personal: Born on Independence Day 2000, he is the son of Kory and Sonja Blackwell.  His father Kory played in the NFL for both the New York Giants and the Cleveland Browns.  He has two brothers, Karon (24) who played at Dillard University, and Chey (13).

Bucs Come Up Short in State Semis

For the fourth time this season, the #25 Florida SouthWestern State Buccaneers and the #17 Indian River State Pioneers went head to head on the hardwood Friday night at the FCSAA State Tournament in Niceville. Also for the fourth time, the contest went down to the wire.  Unfortunately for FSW, it was Indian River squeaking out a 74-71 victory, ending the Bucs run at the tournament and putting them squarely on the bubble in their hopes for an at-large bid to the NJCAA National Tournament.

Jackson Goes for 27 as #13 FSW Tops the Century Mark Against Pasco

CJ Jackson scored a career high 27 points and the #13 Florida SouthWestern State Buccaneers shot 59% from the floor as they raced past the Pasco-Hernando State Bobcats 100-45 Wednesday night in non-conference play.

#17 FSW Takes Out Frustrations on Miami Dade

Sometimes you are just in the wrong place at the wrong time and the Miami Dade Sharks couldn't have fit that statement much better than they did Wednesday night in Suncoast Credit Union Arena as the #17 Florida SouthWestern State Buccaneers put a 121-87 spanking on the Sharks in FSW's first game back after their first conference loss in over four years.

High Flying Bucs Lead Wire to Wire Against Panthers

The #13 Florida SouthWestern State Buccaneers put on a show for their home crowd Saturday afternoon in Suncoast Credit Union Arena, topping the 90 point mark for the seventh straight game and leading wire to wire in a 98-64 win over the visiting Palm Beach State Panthers in Southern Conference action.

Slow Start Dooms Bucs in Top 25 Matchup with Northwest

The #7 Florida SouthWestern State Buccaneers dug themselves a big hole early on Saturday afternoon in Suncoast Credit Union Arena and were never able to dig themselves out, dropping a 74-65 decision to #23 Northwest Florida State for their first loss of the 2021 season.

Bucs Retool with Nine Newcomers on 2020-2021 Roster

After moving eight players on to the NCAA Division I level last season, a Florida SouthWestern State Men’s Basketball program that has gone 59-5 over the past two seasons had lots of restocking to do for 2020-2021. Head Coach Eric Murphy feel like the Bucs have done just that, adding nine newcomers to the fold including a pair of Division I transfers to go with a talented freshman crop.
