This Spring, Florida SouthWestern State fans latched onto the Drake Bulldogs, plum full of former Buccaneer athletes and coaches.  Next year, they will have another Bulldogs squad to cheer for as sophomore guard Jaden Campbell signed with Samford University on Wednesday where he will reunite with former FSW star Jermaine Marshall for the 2021-2022 season.

Bucs Come Up Short in State Semis

For the fourth time this season, the #25 Florida SouthWestern State Buccaneers and the #17 Indian River State Pioneers went head to head on the hardwood Friday night at the FCSAA State Tournament in Niceville. Also for the fourth time, the contest went down to the wire.  Unfortunately for FSW, it was Indian River squeaking out a 74-71 victory, ending the Bucs run at the tournament and putting them squarely on the bubble in their hopes for an at-large bid to the NJCAA National Tournament.

The Florida SouthWestern State Buccaneers finished the regular season on a high note Monday night in Suncoast Credit Union Arena, blowing out the visiting State College of Florida Manatees 96-75 to close the regular season 17-4.  Five FSW sophomores played their final career games at home in Fort Myers with four of the five scoring in double figures in the win.

Bucs Stunned by Sharks

If a shark is flipped on its back, it goes into a state called tonic immobility, a trance like state in which the animal is nearly non-reactive to things around it.  Saturday afternoon in Miami, the normally frenetic paced Miami Dade Sharks pulled a tonic immobility trick of their own on the #15 Florida SouthWestern State Buccaneers, slowing the pace of the game down considerably to stay with the high powered Bucs before stunning FSW in the final minutes 71-70 for their first ever win over the Bucs.
