FORT MYERS, Fla.- We kick off our countdown of the top 10 moments of the 2020-2021 FSW Athletics Year today with our #10 moment; Terry Roberts breaking the Bucs single game steals record. 

In their first five years of competition, the Florida SouthWestern State Men's Basketball program has built their foundation on the defensive end of the floor.  They have had some of the best on ball defenders in the NJCAA, from Nych Smith, to Tremell and Anthony Murphy, to Tyler Cheese, and Keon Ellis, but the numbers Terry Roberts put up the last two seasons for the Purple and Aqua elevated him to the top of that list.

In a win over Palm Beach midway through Southern Conference play, Roberts picked off more steals than any other player in FSW program history, picking the pocket of seven Panthers to set a new Buccaneer record. Heading into the game, a Buc had recorded five steals in a game 15 different times and Roberts and two other Bucs had notched six in a contest, but with 8:14 left in this one, Roberts put himself on another pedestal with his seventh steal of the ballgame. Roberts finished with a game high 20 points on 7 of 11 shooting and had the school record seven steals, leading the Bucs to a 98-64 win over the Panthers to improve to 10-1 overall and 5-0 in Southern Conference play on the  year. 

Roberts finished the season with 61 steals for the second straight year, tying himself for second place on the single season steals list, while his 122 career steals passed current Alabama star Keon Ellis for the #1 spot in the record books.
