FSW Climbs Five Spots in Week Six Poll
Riding a five game winning streak, the Florida SouthWestern State Buccaneers moved up five spots in the NJCAA National Rankings this week, checking in at #20 in the week six poll.
CHARLOTTE, N.C.- Riding a five game winning streak, the Florida SouthWestern State Buccaneers moved up five spots in the NJCAA National Rankings this week, checking in at #20 in the week six poll.
The Bucs made the long trip up to the Florida Panhandle this weekend, claiming a pair of close wins over South Georgia Tech and Gulf Coast State to improve to 10-2 on the year. Nine of the Bucs' 10 wins on the season have come against NJCAA Division I opponents while both of their losses have come to teams ranked in the Top 25 in the week six poll in #15 Snow and #24 Santa Fe.
Salt Lake and Kilgore continued their reign at the top while John A. Logan moved up to #3 and Northwest Florida and Dodge City made big jumps to round out the Top 5 this week. Colby was the biggest loser in week six, falling all the way from the Top 10 to #18 following a loss to Pratt while Jones made a meteoric rise from unranked to #13 after a buzzer beating win over #3 Chipola.
The Bucs will look to close out the first half strong on Wednesday when they make a trip to Winter Haven to take on Polk State in a battle of former Suncoast Conference rivals.
