Bucs Re-Enter Top 15
The slow climb back up the NJCAA rankings continued for the Florida SouthWestern State Buccaneers this week as the Bucs re-entered the Top 15 for the first time since their last loss in mid-November, checking in at #15 in the week 9 poll.
CHARLOTTE, N.C.- The slow climb back up the NJCAA rankings continued for the Florida SouthWestern State Buccaneers this week as the Bucs re-entered the Top 15 for the first time since their last loss in mid-November, checking in at #15 in the week 9 poll.
FSW won their ninth and tenth consecutive games this week, posting blowout victories over Miami Dade and Hillsborough in Southern Conference action to improve to 14-2 on the year. The Bucs winning streak has now spanned almost two months with their last defeat coming all the way back before Thanksgiving to 12-2 Spartanburg Methodist.
There was some shake up at the top of the poll for the first time in a while as behind Salt Lake at #1, John A. Logan and Northwest Florida stepped up a rung to #2 and #3 while Kilgore dropped two spots to #4, and Indian River climbed up two spots to #5. The FCSAA had four teams in the poll once again with Northwest Florida at #3 and Indian River at #5 followed by Chipola at #11 and the Bucs at #15.
The Bucs are back in action on Wednesday when they travel up the coast to Bradenton to take on long time rival State College of Florida in a 7 PM tip from Hal Chasey Gymnasium.
