CHARLOTE, N.C.- Coming off of their best win of the 2023-2024 season over #19 Eastern Florida State, the Florida SouthWestern State Buccaneers have earned their way back into the NJCAA Men's Basketball Top 25 for week six, cracking the rankings at #25.
The Bucs are 10-4 on the season after their 82-78 Citrus Conference win over the Titans on Saturday in Melbourne. FSW is riding a season long three game win streak after victories over Tallahassee, Albany Tech, and then Eastern Florida. Despite the four losses, the Bucs are just a few breaks away from flirting with a perfect record this season. FSW's four losses have come by a combined 16 points and have included a buzzer beating loss to #4 Salt Lake, an overtime defeat to #1 Northwest Florida State, and a one point loss against Gulf Coast State.
Undefeated South Plains continued to hold down the #1 spot in week six while 15-0 Daytona State climbed to #2 and Northwest Florida, Vincennes, and Salt Lake all filed in to fill the Top 5. The Bucs are one of six FCSAA teams and one of three Citrus Conference teams in this week's Top 25 led by Daytona and Northwest at #2 and #3 and followed up by Chipola at #14, Indian River at #21, and Eastern Florida at #23.
The Bucs are back in action Wednesday on the road in Lake Worth when they take on Palm Beach State in a 7 PM tip off. They return to Suncoast Arena on Saturday for their home conference opener when they take on Hillsborough in a 2 PM start in Fort Myers.
