Birthday Boy Lindsay Named NJCAA National Player of the Week
Florida SouthWestern sophomore Dezdrick Lindsay started his 20th birthday with quite the present on Wednesday as the Bucs guard was named the NJCAA National Player of the Week in a release by the National Office.
CHARLOTTE, N.C.- Florida SouthWestern sophomore Dezdrick Lindsay started his 20th birthday with quite the present on Wednesday as the Bucs guard was named the NJCAA National Player of the Week in a release by the National Office.
Lindsay lit it up in a pair of big Citrus Conference games for the Bucs last week, averaging 34 points and 10 rebounds per game while shooting 68% from the field for FSW. Wednesday he came off the Bucs bench for his second 30 point performance of the season, hitting on 12-18 from the field and racking up 30 points while also hauling in a game high 13 rebounds in a 97-93 win over Indian River. Saturday he upped his production even more, pouring in a career high 38 points on 15-22 shooting in a tough 109-106 overtime loss to #4 Daytona State.
Lindsay has been the bell cow for the Bucs this season, leading them to a 17-5 record and a Top 25 National Ranking thus far, averaging 17.1 points and 7.5 rebounds per game while shooting 52% from the field and 46% from the three point line.
Lindsay and the Bucs are back home tonight in a huge Citrus Conference matchup at 7 PM with #14 Eastern Florida in Suncoast Credit Union Arena.
