Bucs Draw 5th Seed, Open Postseason Against Gulf Coast

NICEVILLE, Fla.- The brackets are set for the FCSAA Championships in Niceville and the Florida SouthWestern State Buccaneers will enter the tournament as the #5 seed as announced by the State on Friday.
The Bucs drew the 5th seed and will take on 4th seeded Gulf Coast State at 9 PM (ET) on Thursday at Raider Arena in Niceville.
FSW finished the regular season by winning five of their final six games of the year to finish 3rd in the Citrus Conference and enter the postseason with an 18-10 record. Gulf Coast was the runners up in the Panhandle Conference with a 21-9 overall mark, winning six of their final eight contests of the regular season.
The Bucs and Commodores played in Panama City to close out 2024, a matchup that Gulf Coast won 80-70 on the floor before having to give the game back as a forfeit because of playing an ineligible player.
The winner of the FSW/Gulf Coast game will play the winner of the Daytona State/Polk State game in the semifinals on Friday after Daytona nabbed the top seed in the tournament for the second straight year. On the other side of the bracket it is 3rd seeded Eastern Florida against 6th seeded Pensacola State and 2nd seeded Chipola against 7th seeded Miami Dade.
For fans who aren't able to make it to Niceville for the tournament, all games will be streaming free of charge on the FCSAA Digital Network and the Bucs will also be having their official watch parties at Buckett's throughout the week where fans can cheer on the Purple and Aqua next to other Bucs fans!
