MELBOURNE, Fla.- Trey Fogle came off the bench and hit five first half three pointers and the Florida SouthWestern defense forced 20 turnovers as they raced past the Gordon State Highlanders 78-59 in their final game before the 2025 holiday break.
The pace was fast and furious early on and it was actually Gordon State who got off to the better start, taking a 17-12 lead eight minutes into the contest. It was all Bucs from there though as they turned up pressure defensively to tie things up and take a lead before Trey Fogle came in off the FSW bench to hit five three pointers in the final six minutes of the half to give the Bucs a 47-25 lead after one.
The Bucs came out of the gates a little bit slow in the second and the Highlanders took advantage, whittling the Bucs lead down to a dozen midway through the period. The Bucs regained their footing though, opening things back up on threes from Lamont Hartfield and Amont'e Allen-Johnson to make it a 17 point game before closing things out late 78-59.
Four Bucs scored in double figures led by Allen-Johnson and Mason Blazer with 16 and Fogle who scored all 15 of his points off the bench in the first half. The Bucs forced 20 Gordon State turnovers and turned them into 19 points in the win.
FSW wins their third straight to improve to 10-4 at the break while Gordon State falls to 4-7.
The Bucs will be idle for the next 18 days before returning to the court January 3rd when they host St. Petersburg to open Citrus Conference play in Suncoast Arena.
