FORT MYERS, Fla.- The Florida SouthWestern Buccaneers' leading scorer has found a home for next season as sophomore sharpshooter Mason Blazer will be headed to La Salle University to play for the Explorers.
Blazer has had a big start to his sophomore campaign for the Bucs, putting up 15.6 points per game while shooting 49% from the field and 41% from the three point line. He has scored in double figures in all but two FSW contests this season, topping the 20 point mark three times including a season high 31 in a win over Monroe in which he tied a program record with 8 three pointers made.
Blazer transferred to FSW this season after a standout freshman year at St. Petersburg where he poured in more than 500 points for the Titans in route to earning 1st Team All-Conference and All-FCSAA honors.
Blazer will join an Explorers squad trying to get back to the NCAA Tournament for the first time since 2013. So far this season La Salle is 4-9 as they head into A-10 play beginning on Wednesday.
FSW kicks off Citrus Conference play on Saturday when the Bucs take on Blazer's old squad in St. Petersburg in a 4 PM tip from Suncoast Credit Union Arena in Fort Myers.
