Red Hot Bucs Jump Into NJCAA Top 25
Winners of 10 of their last 11 games, the Florida SouthWestern Buccaneers finally cracked the NJCAA Top 25 Rankings on Monday, checking in at #22 in the week 11 poll.
CHARLOTTE, N.C.- Winners of 10 of their last 11 games, the Florida SouthWestern Buccaneers finally cracked the NJCAA Top 25 Rankings on Monday, checking in at #22 in the week 11 poll.
FSW has won five straight in Citrus Conference play to run their record to 17-5 on the year. The Bucs sit atop the Citrus Conference standings, tied with Daytona State at 7-1 in league play at the midway mark, but hold the tiebreaker over the Falcons thanks to a head to head win in Daytona earlier this month. The Bucs offense has been electric since their return to the winter break, averaging 91 points per game in their seven January wins.
The week 11 poll had a new #1 on top with Snow taking over not only the country, but the top spot in the rankings, while Howard, Gulf Coast State, Vincennes, and Indian Hills rounded out the top five. The Bucs were one of six FCSAA squads in the poll, joined by #3 Gulf Coast, #8 Tallahassee, #9 Northwest Florida, #12 Daytona, and #18 Chipola.
It marks the Bucs first appearance in the rankings since week one of the 2024-2025 season when they were #25 and their highest ranking since February of 2024 when they checked in at #21.
The Bucs kick off the second half of Citrus Conference play on Wednesday on the road at St. Petersburg before returning home to battle Polk State in Suncoast Arena on Saturday at 2.
