Bucs Climb Three Spots After Top 25 Win
The Florida SouthWestern Buccaneers climbed three spots in the latest NJCAA National Rankings on Monday, jumping up to #21 after a big Citrus Conference win over then #15 Daytona State on Saturday in Suncoast Arena.
CHARLOTTE, N.C.- The Florida SouthWestern Buccaneers climbed three spots in the latest NJCAA National Rankings on Monday, jumping up to #21 after a big Citrus Conference win over then #15 Daytona State on Saturday in Suncoast Arena.
The Bucs put together a pair of impressive performances last week, first hammering Miami Dade 95-55 on Wednesday to set up their showdown with #15 Daytona State on Saturday which they won 88-77 to take over sole possession of first place in the Citrus Conference standings. With the wins the Bucs improved to 22-6 on the year and now gives them three victories over Top 25 opponents this season.
Snow continues to pace the pack atop the rankings with a shuffle behind them seeing Indian Hills move to #2, Southern Idaho to #3 and Howard and Trinity Valley round out the top five. Six FCSAA squads were again ranked in the Top 25 with Tallahassee, Chipola, and Northwest Florida packed together from #6 to #8, Gulf Coast State at #12, FSW at #21, and Daytona State at #24.
The Bucs will look to clinch a share of their first Citrus Conference Championship Wednesday at home against Santa Fe with tip off set for 7 PM.
