Sophomore (2020): Nobody in the country was hotter than Ellis in 2020 when the NJCAA Softball season came to a halt due to Covid-19.  In 24 games, she was hitting .548 and slugging an unbelievable 1.065, putting together a 1.655 OPS on the year.  She had 34 hits in those 24 games including 12 doubles, a triple, and 6 home runs, and drove in 42. She had 10 multi-hit games on the year and drove in 2 or more runs 11 different times including a 6 RBI effort against Ave Maria midseason.  She hit safely in the Bucs final 15 games of the year and in the middle of that stretch was named the FCSAA and NJCAA National Player of the Week when she hit .714 with 16 RBIs and 9 runs scored in seven FSW contests.  

Freshman (2019): Ellis played in 53 games as a freshman in 2019.  She accumulated 55 hits, 48 RBIs and 31 runs, which led to a .374 batting average.  She hit 7 home runs and 8 doubles, leading to a .571 slugging percentage. Her 7 home runs tied for 4th most in a single season FSW history.   

High School: Ellis played her high school ball at North Fort Myers High School where she was 1st Team All-Area and was also named to the All-Conference team.

Personal: Ellis was born on March 24, 2000, she is the daughter of Curtis and Tara Ellis.

Bucs Win 2021 NJCAA National Championship

The Florida SouthWestern State Buccaneers are bringing the NJCAA National Championship trophy back to Fort Myers! The Bucs scored four runs in the 7th inning to break a 1-1 tie against the Grayson Vikings Saturday afternoon in Yuma, Arizona, going onto win the school's first National Championship with a 5-1 victory to finish the tournament a perfect 5-0.

Florida SouthWestern State Head Coach Robert Iamurri has seen a lot of wins in his six years at the helm for the Buccaneers.  Wednesday, he said, may have been the best of them all as his Bucs battled back from a three run 7th inning deficit to win 14-13 in a walk off against #6 Seminole State to advance to the semifinal round of the winner's bracket at the NJCAA National Tournament in Yuma, Arizona.

The #3 Florida SouthWestern State Buccaneers put on an offensive clinic Tuesday afternoon in the first round of the NJCAA National Tournament as they took on the Central Alabama Trojans, exploding for 13 runs on 14 hits in route to a 13-3 run rule victory to move onto the winner's bracket quarterfinals on Wednesday.

FSW Set For NJCAA National Tournament

After a cross country trip to the desert of the American Southwest, the Florida SouthWestern State Buccaneers are just 24 hours away from their 2021 NJCAA National Tournament opener against Central Alabama.  The Bucs will open play at the tournament Tuesday at 4 PM (PST) at the PAAC Complex in Yuma, Arizona when they take on the Trojans in the first round.

FSW Wins South Atlantic B District Championship, Headed to Nationals

Two years ago, the Florida SouthWestern State Buccaneers lost a 2-1 extra innings heartbreaker in the District H Championship game at Soldier's Creek Park in Longwood, Florida, falling one game short of their fourth straight trip to the NJCAA National Tournament.  Monday, playing for the South Atlantic B District Title on the same field, they made sure that didn't happen again, jumping out to an early 5-0 lead against #12 Indian River and continued to put the pressure on the Pioneers all game, eventually finishing off a 10-3 win to claim the championship and punch their ticket to the National Tournament in Yuma, Arizona.

Bucs Win Battle of the High Seas Against Pirates

It was a matchup made for a movie script Sunday morning at Soldier's Creek Park as the Buccaneers of Florida SouthWestern battled the Pirates of Pensacola State in a battle of the high seas in an elimination game at the FCSAA State Tournament. Jumping out to an early 4-0 lead, it was the Bucs surviving and advancing with a 7-3 win to push them through to the Final Four round of the tournament Sunday night where they will take on #5 Central Florida in another elimination contest.

The Florida SouthWestern State Buccaneers exploded for 19 runs in just four offensive innings of work Friday morning in their FCSAA State Tournament opener against Miami Dade.  After falling behind 2-0 in the 1st inning, the Bucs ripped off five in the bottom of the 1st, three more in the 3rd, and plated 11 in the 4th for a 19-5 win to advance to the winner's bracket semifinal on Saturday.

Bucs Finish Busy Day in Georgia 2-1

The #1 Florida SouthWestern State Buccaneers had a busy day on day one of the 2021 NFCA Classic in Columbus, Georgia, taking the field for three consecutive games to begin the tournament.  The Bucs were stung by the big inning, twice able to overcome crooked numbers in a 9-8 comeback win over Georgia Military and a 13-6 win over Wabash Valley, but in their final game of the day against #11 Wallace State, they couldn't, falling 12-8 to move to 17-3 on the year.

The top ranked Florida SouthWestern State Buccaneers bounced back from their first loss of the season with a pair of wins on Sunday in Sanford, coming from behind late to beat #19 Pensacola 5-2 followed by a much less stressful win, hammering Gulf Coast State 11-1 in five to improve to 11-1 on the year.

Bucs Hammer Vikings, Drop First of 2021 to #3 Central Florida

The day started good for the #1 ranked Florida SouthWestern State Buccaneers Saturday at the Courtney Miller Invitational in Sanford as they put it on St. John's River by a count of 10-0 in a five inning run rule.  Their second game of the day didn't go as well as a late home run for #3 Central Florida doomed the Bucs in a 4-3 loss, their first of the 2021 season.

FSW Blows Past Keiser to Move to 8-0

The top ranked Florida SouthWestern State Buccaneers flexed their muscles once again Monday afternoon in West Palm Beach, scoring 20 runs and banging out 31 hits in just 12 innings of work to sweep a doubleheader with Keiser University and improve to 8-0 on the year.

Bucs Bats Explode in Doubleheader Sweep

The top ranked Florida SouthWestern State Buccaneers put on an offensive exhibition Tuesday afternoon on the road in Miami, scoring 23 runs in just 10 innings of work, sweeping Miami Dade 13-5 and 10-2 in a pair of run rules to improve to 6-0 on the season.

Poot's Walk Off Highlights Perfect 4-0 Day For Top Ranked Bucs

The Florida SouthWestern Statea Buccaneers took the field as the #1 team in the country for the first time this season on Saturday and they got their money's worth.  The Bucs played four times at the Clearwater Kick Off, going a perfect 4-0 including getting a walk off three run home run to help FSW beat D2 #5 Louisburg in their third game of the day.

Team to Beat: FSW Begins 2021 Season Ranked #1 in National Rankings

The Florida SouthWestern State Softball team will open the 2021 season as the top team in the country as the NJCAA announced with their release of the Preseason National Poll Tuesday that the Bucs begin the year ranked #1.
