CHARLOTTE, N.C.- The Florida SouthWestern Buccaneers continued their stay atop the NJCAA National Rankings on Monday, checking into the #1 spot for the third straight week after extending their win streak to 17 games last week.
The Bucs are 34-3 overall and a perfect 15-0 in Suncoast Conference play where they are primed for their fifth straight Conference Championship. FSW has won 17 straight games with their last loss coming almost six weeks ago to #6 Wallace State. Last week the Bucs swept conference doubleheaders against both State College of Florida and Polk State, outscoring the Manatees and Eagles by a combined 36-2 count.
The only change in the top eight of the rankings was a flip flop at #3 and #4 where Butler jumps up one and Howard moves down one behind FSW and Salt Lake at #1 and #2. The Bucs lead four FCSAA teams in the Top 20 this week with Central Florida at #5, Indian River at #10, and Pensacola State at #16.
The Bucs will be back in action on Sophomore Day on Thursday when they host Hillsborough in a Suncoast Conference doubleheader beginning at 5 PM.
