Bucs Stick at #3 in Unchanged Top 5 of National Rankings
The Florida SouthWestern State Buccaneers remained at #3 in the NJCAA National Rankings for the fourth straight week Monday as the polls were released by the National Office.
CHARLOTTE, N.C.- The Florida SouthWestern State Buccaneers remained at #3 in the NJCAA National Rankings for the fourth straight week Monday as the polls were released by the National Office.
The Bucs have won 14 in a row and are 37-4 overall and a perfect 12-0 in Suncoast Conference play as they hit the home stretch of their 2022 campaign. Last week FSW went 4-0, outscoring their opponents by a count of 31-2. The Bucs posted back to back shutouts of St. Petersburg at home on Tuesday, winning 8-0 and 9-0 before taking a two over Polk State and St. Petersburg again on Saturday by counts of 6-2 and 8-0.
The top five in the poll stood pat once again this week with Wallace State and Yavapai leading the way in front of the Bucs at #1 and #2 and Seminole State and Odessa checking in behind FSW at #4 and #5. The Bucs were one of five teams from the Sunshine State in the Top 20 with #9 Chipola, #12 Northwest Florida, #13 Pensacola State, and #19 Gulf Coast also gracing the poll.
The Bucs are back in action Thursday when they travel to Clearwater to take on St. Petersburg for the third time in nine days, the twinbill between the Bucs and Titans will begin at 5 PM.
