CHARLOTTE, N.C.- A pair of Florida SouthWestern legends received the top honor one can at the NJCAA level on Tuesday, as Bucs Head Coach Robert Iamurri and former All-American pitcher Courtney Gettins were announced as members of the NJCAA Softball Hall of Fame Class of 2026.
Iamurri is the first and only Head Coach the Bucs have ever known, building the program from the ground up the past 11 seasons. He has won nearly 90% of his games as the FSW skipper, going 572-70 including a 227-20 record across three different conference in league play. He has won a Conference Championship in every season, captured four FCSAA Championships, and has led the Bucs to the NJCAA World Series in 8 of 9 seasons which will likely become 9 of 10 when the 2026 field is announced later this month. FSW has been in the top five in the NJCAA National Rankings for more than 100 straight weeks under Iamurri and he has coached 22 NJCAA All-Americans in the nine years the awards have been given our during his tenure.
However, all of that is just the tip of the iceberg of Iamurri's ultimate accomplishments as he is one of just two coaches in NJCAA Division I history to lead his program to three straight National Championships, winning the title in 2021, 2022, and 2023 while also reaching the title game during the 2025 campaign.
The player that helped Iamurri get it all going is rightfully going into the Hall of Fame alongside him. Gettins put together one of the most dominating statistical careers of any pitcher in NJCAA Division I history during her two year stay in Fort Myers in 2016 and 2017. She finished with a 73-7 record in the circle for the Bucs, posting a 1.46 ERA and a 0.90 WHIP, setting FSW program records with 73 wins, 518 strikeouts, 523 innings pitched, and an eye popping 68 complete games and 21 shutouts.
She was the 2016 NJCAA National Pitcher of the Year, the 2016 and 2017 Suncoast Conference Pitcher of the Year, and a two-time 1st Team NJCAA All-American among a boatload of other honors over her two years with the Bucs.
After her graduation from FSW, Gettins continued her career at the University of Alabama and has since transitioned into coaching with stops at Jacksonville, Texas, and Mercer before joining the Bucs staff as an Assistant Coach this season.
The two will be officially enshrined at a ceremony at the NFCA Convention in December in Atlantic City, New Jersey.
Iamurri, Gettins and the Bucs begin their postseason run on Wednesday in Clearwater at the FCSAA Championships.
