FSW Holds Steady in National Poll

CHARLOTTE, N.C.- There was lots of shuffling in the NJCAA week nine Women's Basketball rankings, but the Florida SouthWestern State Buccaneers were not a part of it, holding their spot at #14 for the third consecutive week in Monday's release.
The Bucs picked up their sixth and seventh consecutive wins this week, albeit in very different manners. Wednesday, FSW needed overtime after erasing a 17 point second half deficit against St. Petersburg to topple the Titans 88-86 in the final minute of the contest. Saturday they struggled to find the basket in the first half, but exploded for a 62 point second half to blowout Hillsborough 95-66.
FSW is 19-5 overall on the year and a perfect 5-0 in Suncoast Conference play where they are eyeing their third straight conference crown. All five of their losses this season have come to teams ranked in the top 15 in the country and the five have come by an average of just 5.3 points per game.
The Bucs step out of conference action on Wednesday when they take on Florida National in Suncoast Credit Union Arena in a 5:30 PM tip.
