FSW Wins 2020-2021 Southern Conference Championship
Saturday, the Miami Dade Sharks ruined the day of the Florida SouthWestern State Buccaneers as they dashed the Bucs chances for a Southern Conference Championship with a 67-65 win in FSW's final conference game of the season. Monday, the Sharks made up for it, upsetting #21 Indian River 71-66 to give the Bucs the 2020-2021 Southern Conference Championship, the Bucs fourth straight conference title across their move from the Suncoast to the Southern Conference.
FORT MYERS, Fla.- Saturday, the Miami Dade Sharks ruined the day of the Florida SouthWestern State Buccaneers as they dashed the Bucs chances for a Southern Conference Championship with a 67-65 win in FSW's final conference game of the season. Monday, the Sharks made up for it, upsetting #21 Indian River 71-66 to give the Bucs the 2020-2021 Southern Conference Championship, the Bucs fourth straight conference title across their move from the Suncoast to the Southern Conference.
FSW finished 6-3 in their first season back in the Southern Conference, winning two out of three against each of the three teams in the league. By virtue of Indian River's loss to Miami Dade Monday to drop them to 6-3 in league play and the Bucs season series win over the Pioneers, the Bucs will now hang another banner in Suncoast Credit Union Arena.
The freshly crowned Southern Conference Champs will now turn their sights to the postseason where they will begin their run to the NJCAA National Tournament on Wednesday, April 7th in Niceville with an opponent to be announced later this week.
