Bucs Begin 2022 Ranked #23
The Florida SouthWestern State Buccaneers will open the second half of their 2021-2022 season ranked #23 as announced by the NJCAA National Office on Monday.
CHARLOTTE, N.C.- The Florida SouthWestern State Buccaneers will open the second half of their 2021-2022 season ranked #23 as announced by the NJCAA National Office on Monday.
The Bucs saw action twice over the break since the last poll was released, picking up wins over Region VIII foes Tallahassee and Santa Fe to close the first half 10-3.
There was some shuffling atop the week 7 poll behind Northwest Florida who has remained #1 since the opening poll of the year. Three Rivers slid up into the #2 slot with New Mexico jumping Trinity Valley for the #3 spot, followed by the Cardinals at #4 and Shelton State at #5 who knocked off #6 Chipola over the break to drop the Indians four spots.
The Bucs were one of six Top 25 teams from the FCSAA this week, joining #1 Northwest Florida, #6 Chipola, #16 Pensacola, #19 Gulf Coast, and #25 Eastern Florida.
FSW is back in action with a pair of games this week as they take the court for the first time in three weeks on Friday when they travel to Lake Worth to take on Patrick Henry in a neutral site contest before opening up Southern Conference play against Hillsborough Saturday at home in Suncoast Arena.
