Freshman (2021-2022): Retamales started all 27 games for the Southern Conference Champion Buccaneers last season, averaging 13.1 points and 4.8 rebounds per game en route to earning First Team All-Conference and First Team All-State accolades. She scored in double figures 20 times last season including a career high 26 against #13 South Georgia Tech in late January.  Two weeks later she posted her lone double-double of the season when she went for 15 points and 10 rebounds in a win over Santa Fe.  

Freshman (2020-2021): Retamales played in all 19 games for the Bucs as a freshman in 2020-2021, averaging 6.2 points and 2.4 rebounds per game.  Retamales started heating up as the season went along, scoring in double figures four times in the final month of the season including a season high 23 in a key Southern Conference win over Indian River.  

High School: Retamales came to Fort Myers from the capital of Chile, Santiago, where she attended Liceo San Pedro Poveda High School.  During her senior season, she averaged 14 points and 6 rebounds per game for her team.  

Personal: Born October 4, 2001, she is the daughter of Leiva Retamales.  She has a sister, Mariela (32).

The Florida SouthWestern State Buccaneers got off to a red hot start Friday afternoon in the FCSAA State Tournament Semifinals against #6 Northwest Florida State, but an ice cold third quarter and a slow start to the fourth did them in in a 69-60 loss to the Raiders to bring their 2022-2023 season to an end.

Bucs Shock #9 Gulf Coast in Region VIII Quarterfinals

After seeing their season come to an end at the hands of the Gulf Coast State Commodores in three of the last four seasons, the Florida SouthWestern State Buccaneers exacted a bit of revenge on Wednesday afternoon at the NJCAA Region VIII Tournament in Niceville, jumping out to a big early lead and hanging on late for a 71-65 win over the 9th ranked Commodores to advance to their first tournament semifinal since the 2019 season.

The Florida SouthWestern State Buccaneers got off to a good start and never looked back Friday afternoon in Lake Worth, blowing past the Palm Beach State Panthers 76-58 to close out the regular season 19-8.

Five In Double Figures As Bucs Run Past Sharks

The Miami Dade Sharks had no answer for the multifaceted Florida SouthWestern attack that came at them Saturday afternoon in Suncoast Credit Union Arena as the Bucs shot 56% from the field and put up 90 points in a 90-62 win in their best offensive effort in Southern Conference play this season.

Second Chance Points Foil Bucs Upset Bid Against Pioneers

For the first 15 minutes of Florida SouthWestern's Southern Conference matchup with the #16 Indian River Pioneers on Wednesday in Fort Pierce, the Bucs controlled the pace, but a relentless Pioneers group crushed FSW on the glass from that point on with 24 second chance points to down the Bucs 71-65 and take control of the race for the conference crown with five games to go.

FSW Flies Past Hawks in Southern Conference Action

Blessing King and Macarena Retamales combined for 40 points and Natalia Tondi and Shaniya Rose each posted career highs as the Florida SouthWestern State Buccaneers cruised past the Hillsborough Hawks 85-67 in Southern Conference play Monday night in Suncoast Credit Union Arena in Fort Myers.

Bucs Collect Second Straight Road Win

For the second time in three days, the Florida SouthWestern State Buccaneers traveled to Florida's East Coast and collected a road win Friday night as the Bucs used a big third quarter and a second straight double-double from Blessing King for a 75-62 victory over Palm Beach State to improve to 12-6 on the year.

Big Second Half Leads FSW Past Denmark Tech

After suffering a bit of a hangover early in Saturday's game against Denmark Tech following their big win over Chipola on Friday, the Florida SouthWestern State Buccaneers put together a huge second half to blow away the Panthers 73-32 to win their second straight in Rudolph's Roundup Tournament at Suncoast Credit Union Arena.

FSW Drops Game of Runs to #9 Eastern Florida

It was a wild game of runs in Daytona on Saturday as the #19 Florida SouthWestern State Buccaneers hooked up with the #9 Eastern Florida State Titans for the second time this season. After going back and forth to  a three point game at the half, Eastern pulled away in the second to come away with a 71-63 win to hand FSW their third consecutive loss for just the second time in program history.

Bucs Falter Late In Loss to #5 Gulf Coast

For 28 minutes, the #19 Florida SouthWestern State Buccaneers went toe to toe with the #5 Gulf Coast State Commodores Friday afternoon in Daytona Beach.  Unfortunately for the Bucs, a six minute stretch after that did them in as Gulf Coast went on a 23-4 run that FSW could never recover from as the Commodores went on to win 72-65.

The #19 Florida SouthWestern State Buccaneers were stunned by the St. Petersburg Titans in the closing seconds of their contest Tuesday night at Suncoast Credit Union Arena, dropping a 71-70 decision after multiple close in shots to win it at the final horn missed their marks.

Sophomore Trio Leads Bucs Past Saints

Big Second Half Propels Bucs Past Pirates

As the old saying goes, it's not how you start, it's how you finish, and thankfully for the #17 Florida SouthWestern State Buccaneers, that saying came true on Sunday in Suncoast Credit Union Arena as after a slow start, the Bucs dug themselves out of an early hole with a big second half to defeat the Pensacola State Pirates 77-67 to conclude their action in the Bucs Club Classic.

Defense Lifts #17 FSW Over John A. Logan In Home Opener

It wasn't always pretty for the #17 Florida SouthWestern State Buccaneers Friday night in their 2022-2023 home opener in Suncoast Credit Union Arena, but they got it done, taking down the visiting John A. Logan Lady Vols 72-53 to remain unbeaten on the early season.

Bucs Earn Early Season Statement Win

To say the Florida SouthWestern State Buccaneers felt slighted when they weren't announced as part of the preseason NJCAA Top 25 Rankings may be a bit of an understatement. The Bucs certainly made their case to be part of the next rankings on Saturday, holding #2 Shelton State to just 28% shooting in a 58-48 victory, the highest ranked opponent the FSW program has ever defeated.

The Florida SouthWestern State Buccaneers tipped off their 2022-2023 season on the road in Morristown, Tennessee on Friday, shellacking the defending NJCAA National Tournament runners-up, Georgia Highlands by a count of 69-43 to get their campaign started off with a bang.
