FORT MYERS, Fla.- After logging nearly 2,000 minutes in a Buccaneers uniform the past two seasons, Florida SouthWestern sophomore Sarah Owona is headed to the Division I level where she will join the UT-Chattanooga Mocs next season. 

 

Owona started all 31 games for the Bucs this season, leading FSW to a Citrus Conference Championship and a trip to the NJCAA Sweet 16 as a sophomore.  She played nearly 35 minutes per game for the Bucs this season, averaging 11.3 points and 5.8 rebounds per game while shooting 44% from the field and 39% from three point land to earn 2^nd Team All-Citrus Conference honors. 

 

She heads to the Volunteer State to join a Chattanooga squad coming off of two trips to the NCAA Tournament in the past three years.  Last season the Mocs were 17-15 and went 9-5 in SOCON action. 

 

Owona is one of five Bucs to sign at the NCAA Division I level this season and one of six overall to sign at a four year school joining Ivy Brown (UTRGV), Georgi Buzzetti (North Florida), Samantha Serrano (Illinois-Chicago), Asiana Britt (Texas A&M-Corpus Christi), Roksana Sajdak (LSU-Alexandria).
