Suttle's Career Night Not Enough For Bucs in Georgia
Ranon Suttle scored a career high 21 points and pulled down a career high 10 rebounds off the bench for the Florida SouthWestern Buccaneers on Saturday, but it wasn't enough as 22 turnovers hampered the Bucs operations in a 64-61 loss to Central Georgia Tech on day two of the Pete Arrington Thanksgiving Classic in Georgia.
AMERICUS, Ga.- Ranon Suttle scored a career high 21 points and pulled down a career high 10 rebounds off the bench for the Florida SouthWestern Buccaneers on Saturday, but it wasn't enough as 22 turnovers hampered the Bucs operations in a 64-61 loss to Central Georgia Tech on day two of the Pete Arrington Thanksgiving Classic in Georgia.
The first half was a struggle for the Bucs as their basket seemed to have a lid on it while Central Georgia Tech had their way on the inside to get out to a six point lead at 37-31 at the break. Outside of Arielle Marc who went a perfect 5 for 5 in the half, FSW shot just 25% from the field and 13% from the three point line in the first 20 minutes of action.
The change in sides at the half changed the Bucs shooting luck as they connected on 46% from the field and 40% from deep in the final 20 minutes to charge their way back into the game. With just over a minute left they cut the Titan lead to just one, but they couldn't get over the hump as Central Georgia Tech held them off 64-61 at the final horn.
Rannon Suttle doubled her previous career high in both points and rebounds with her first career double-double, putting up 21 points and 10 boards while Marc added 18 for FSW. The Bucs were once again hampered by turnovers, coughing it up 14 times in the second half and 22 times overall in the defeat.
The Bucs fall to 5-4 on the year with the loss while Central Georgia Tech improves to 5-3.
FSW will wrap up their trip to the Peach State on Sunday afternoon when they take on Albany Tech in a 1 PM tip.
