CHARLOTTE, N.C.- For the second straight week, the Florida SouthWestern State Buccaneers are ranked inside the Top 10 of the NJCAA National Rankings, standing pat at #8 as announced by the NJCAA National Office Monday afternoon.
The Bucs picked up two more wins last week, defeating State College of Florida on the road 3-0 before coming home to sweep Hillsborough by the same count on Thursday to move to 11-3 on the year.
The top eight in the poll remained mostly unchanged with the only movement, a flop of #2 and #3 between Utah State Eastern and Snow after the Eagles defeated the Badgers on Wednesday. Miami Dade stayed at #1 with Utah State Eastern and Snow following them and Navarro and Odessa rounding out the top five. Seward County and Iowa Western remained at #6 and #7 with FSW staying at #8. Polk State and Missouri State-West Plains jumped in to round out this week's Top 10. The spots from 10-20 saw lots of movement with FCSAA squads Santa Fe and Daytona State checking in at #17 and #18 respectively.
The Bucs will be back in action on Thursday when they start the second round of Suncoast Conference play, taking on St. Petersburg at home at Suncoast Credit Union Arena on the backend of a Women's Basketball/Volleyball doubleheader with first serve scheduled for 7 PM.
