Bucs Hold Down Top Spot For Sixth Straight Week
The 14-0 Florida SouthWestern State Buccaneers remained the #1 ranked team in the country for the sixth consecutive week as announced by the NJCAA on Monday.
CHARLOTTE, N.C.- The 14-0 Florida SouthWestern State Buccaneers remained the #1 ranked team in the country for the sixth consecutive week as announced by the NJCAA on Monday.
The lone remaining unbeaten team in the NJCAA Division I ranks, the Bucs were idle last week after evacuating Fort Myers with Hurricane Ian bearing down on Southwest Florida. FSW is a perfect 14-0 on the season with seven wins over teams ranked in this week's Top 20 including four top 10 victories.
There was some shuffling in the week six poll with Salt Lake and Indian Hills swapping places at #2 and #3 behind the Bucs and Miami Dade and Utah State Eastern rounding out the top five. Central Wyoming moved back into the Top 10 where they started the season while Missouri State-West Plains made a big move up seven spots to #11 after knocking off Indian Hills.
FSW has a pair of road contests on the docket this week as they take on Santa Fe in Gainesville Thursday before hopping over to Daytona Beach to take on the 17th ranked Daytona State Falcons on Saturday.
