CHARLOTTE, N.C.- For the first time in over a year, the NJCAA's Division I Volleyball rankings were released without the Florida SouthWestern State Buccaneers on top on Monday as the Bucs 13 week regular season run as the country's #1 ranked team came to a close with FSW checking in at #2 in the week seven poll as announced by the NJCAA National Office.
The Bucs dropped their first game of the year on Saturday at #17 Daytona State, moving to 15-1 on the season. FSW remains the only one loss team in the country after seven weeks of action. FSW flip flopped with Salt Lake at the top of the week seven poll with the 21-2 Bruins taking over the top spot from the Bucs with Indian Hills, Miami Dade, and Western Nebraska rounding out the Top 5 behind FSW. Missouri State- West Plains continued their rise up the charts as they enter the Top 10 this week while Daytona's win over the Bucs shoots them up three spots to #14 behind fellow FCSAA squad Hillsborough at #13.
The Bucs will look to get back on track on Thursday when they head back over to the East Coast to take on Indian River in Fort Pierce before taking on the aforementioned 13th ranked Hawks of Hillsborough Saturday in Tampa.
