CHARLOTTE, N.C.- After sweeping their National Championship Game rematch with #2 Miami Dade on Wednesday, the Florida SouthWestern State Buccaneers held their #1 spot in the NJCAA National Rankings for the sixth straight week on Monday.
The Bucs are 18-0 on the year and remain the Nation's top ranked team after collecting their 10th win over a ranked opponent this season on Wednesday against the Sharks. FSW earned sweeps over conference rivals #2 Miami Dade and Hillsborough to remain unbeaten in Citrus Conference action as well as overall in 2023.
There was little change in the week six poll with the top five remaining pat and no newcomers into the rankings. FSW continued to lead the way with Miami Dade remaining at #2, and Navarro, Odessa, and Northeastern rounding out the top five. The Bucs and Sharks led five Sunshine State squads in the Top 20 including Polk State at #15, Daytona State at #17, and Eastern Florida at #20.
The Bucs begin their longest road stretch of the season on Wednesday when they travel to Indian River to begin four straight away from home. Saturday they will play in the only building they have lost in the past two seasons as they travel to Daytona Beach to take on the Falcons of Daytona State in a matinee affair.
