FORT MYERS, Fla.- Florida SouthWestern sophomore Clara Maidantchik will be heading from one National Championship program to another in 2025 as the Bucs libero has inked with NCAA Division II Champs Lynn University where she will suit up for the Fighting Knights next season.
Maidantchik was a mainstay on the back row for the Bucs the past two seasons, playing in 52 matches and pulling up 464 digs. As a sophomore this season in the Bucs two libero system she had eight matches with 10 or more digs including a season high 17 in a sweep of #5 Trinity Valley. As a freshman in 2023 she had double digit digs in 15 different matches including a career high 21 in a win over Citrus Conference rival Hillsborough to open conference play.
Maidantchik helped lead the Bucs to a 57-2 record in two seasons while winning a pair of Citrus Conference and FCSAA Championships and going out on top with back to back NJCAA National Championships.
She will join a Lynn program coming off of a National Championship of their own after the Fighting Knights were 33-3 and captured their first National Title in program history last season at the NCAA Division II level. Lynn was led by former Buc Maria Cecilia who had 14 kills and 5 blocks in the National Championship match and was an AVCA All-American for the Fighting Knights a year ago.
Maidantchik is one of eight Buccaneer sophomores to sign at the next level for 2025. She is joined by Camilala Brandalise (Virginia Tech), Julija Grubisic Cabo & Abby Toeniskoetter (Florida Gulf Coast), Anna Marzella (Southern Utah), Nele Broszat (Cal State Bakersfield), Nina Boledovicova (Virginia Commonwealth), and Sofia Augusto (Palm Beach Atlantic).
