Florida SouthWestern sophomore Nele Broszat will pack her bags for a nearly 2,700 mile journey this fall after signing with Cal State Bakersfield where she will suit up for he Roadrunners in 2025.
FORT MYERS, Fla.- Florida SouthWestern sophomore Nele Broszat will pack her bags for a nearly 2,700 mile journey this fall after signing with Cal State Bakersfield where she will suit up for he Roadrunners in 2025.
Broszat played in 15 matches for the Bucs last season, averaging 1.12 kills and 0.72 blocks per set while hitting .367 after transferring in from West Virginia University. She had her best match of the year in the Bucs trip to Wyoming when she finished with a career high 7 kills and 4 blocks in a 3-1 FSW win over Laramie County.
Broszat and the Bucs completed the trifecta in 2024, winning the Citrus Conference, FCSAA, and finally the NJCAA National Championship, going 26-1 on the year for their third straight National Title.
She heads to the Golden State where she will join a Bakersfield team coming off of a 12-18 campaign and a 6-12 mark in Big West action. Broszat will team up with a pair of familiar faces with the Roadrunners including Miami Dade setter Luiza Da Cruz and Boden Liljedahl who the Bucs saw for Eastern Wyoming in their opening round matchup at the National Tournament.
Broszat is one of eight Buccaneer sophomores to sign at the next level for 2025 including one of six at the NCAA Division I level. She is joined by Nina Boledovicova (Virginia Commonwealth), Camilla Brandalise (Virginia Tech), Julija Grubisic Cabo, Abby Toeniskoetter, and Anna Marzella (Florida Gulf Coast), Clara Maidantchik (Lynn), and Sofia Augusto (Palm Beach Atlantic).
