Labucka Signs With Jackrabbits
After helping the Florida SouthWestern Buccaneers to a pair of National Championship game appearances and the 2024 NJCAA National Championship, sophomore Patrycja Labucka has signed to continue her career at South Dakota State University next season.
FORT MYERS, Fla.- After helping the Florida SouthWestern Buccaneers to a pair of National Championship game appearances and the 2024 NJCAA National Championship, sophomore Patrycja Labucka has signed to continue her career at South Dakota State University next season.
Labucka played in 49 games the past two seasons for the Bucs, averaging 1.67 kills and 0.50 blocks per set for the Purple and Aqua. She had three games of 10 or more kills for the Bucs during her career including a career high 13 kill performance this season against Hillsborough. She had a pair of standout performances in the postseason for the Bucs this season, finishing with 7 kills on 9 swings in just one set played in FSW's Atlantic District Championship victory over USC Sumter while coming in off the bench and recording 8 kills in the Bucs National semifinal win over Weatherford.
Labucka helped the Bucs to the Citrus Conference, FCSAA, and NJCAA National Championships as a freshman in 2024 while FSW put together a 53-5 record in her two seasons in Fort Myers.
She will join a South Dakota State program in January coming off of one of their best seasons in program history. The Jackrabbits went 23-5 overall, going undefeated in Summit League action at 16-0 before earning a trip to the NCAA Tournament where they won their first set in the tournament in program history against Arizona in the first round.
Labucka is one of four Bucs to sign during the early period, joining Sara Gamboa (Florida Atlantic), Dinara Sabitova (Florida Gulf Coast), and Sarah Webb (Eckerd).
