Bio

Freshman (2023): Thomas played his freshman season at the University of Georgia where he saw action in 25 games, starting eight for the Bulldogs.  He hit .193 with a double, a home run, and five RBIs while going 3-4 in stolen base attempts. His first career hit was a home run at Georgia Southern.  

High School: Thomas was the Savannah Morning Player of the Year as a senior at Benedictine Military School hitting .517 with a school record 17 home runs and 55 RBIs. In his four year varsity career Thomas finished with 29 home runs and 110 RBIs while also stealing 44 stolen bases. 

Personal: Born September 29, 2003, he is the son of Justin and Jessica Thomas.  He has three sisters, Chante (23), Amayia (16), Kamryn (12).

The #19 Florida SouthWestern State Buccaneers saw their 2024 season come to an end Saturday afternoon in Tampa as an early 6-2 deficit was too much to overcome in an 8-3 loss to #10 Indian River in the FCSAA State Tournament. FSW finishes the season 37-21.

Three Florida SouthWestern pitchers held the Polk State Eagles to runs in just 2 of 16 offensive innings Saturday afternoon in Winter Haven as the Buccaneers swept their old rivals 5-1 and 5-3 to wrap up the regular season and sew up a 2nd place finish in the inaugural Citrus Conference standings.

Defensive Miscues Costly For Bucs in Series Opening Defeat

The Florida SouthWestern State Buccaneers made three errors, costing them five unearned runs in an 8-4 loss to the Polk State Eagles Thursday afternoon at Buccaneers Park in Fort Myers. The defeat puts the Bucs hopes for a Citrus Conference Championship on life support, but on the positive side, a Miami Dade loss to Eastern Florida locks up no worse than a second place finish for the Purple and Aqua with two games left to go.

Saturday Split Earns Bucs Series Win Against Seminole

The #18 Florida SouthWestern State Buccaneers didn't make it easy Saturday afternoon at Buccaneers Park in Fort Myers, but they did enough to earn a doubleheader split against the visiting Seminole State Raiders to win their Citrus Conference series 2-1 to remain in first place in the conference standings at the midway point of the conference schedule.

Ninth Inning Comeback Nets Bucs Extra Innings Win

One thing the #18 Florida SouthWestern State Buccaneers fans have learned this season is, never leave the ballpark early. That was the case once again on Thursday as down to their last out in the 9th inning against Seminole State, the Bucs got a game tying RBI single from Michael McAloose to send the game to extras where a two run single from Nate Earley won it in 10 as FSW took the series opener 8-5 over the Raiders to remain in first place in the Citrus Conference standings.

Bucs Launch Six Homers In Doubleheader Split

The #17 Florida SouthWestern State Buccaneers launched six home runs in their Saturday doubleheader with the State College of Florida Manatees but it was only good enough for a split as the Bucs took game one 11-5 before seeing the Manatees storm back with a seven run 7th in game two to win the game 13-7 and take the series 2-1.

The Florida SouthWestern State Buccaneers went into this weekend tied for first place in the Citrus Conference standings with the Hillsborough Hawks. After a three home run day from Victor Figueroa and six hits from Justin Thomas to lead the Bucs to a Saturday sweep of the Hawks, FSW leaves the weekend with both a three game lead in the conference standings on Hillsborough as well as six other teams tied for second at 5-4 in conference play after three weekends of action.

Burch & Bullpen Set Up More Late Game Heroics For Bucs

Things didn't look good for the Florida SouthWestern State Buccaneers Thursday afternoon in Tampa as they fell behind 5-0 right off the bat in game one of their three game battle for first series with the upstart Hillsborough Hawks. That's when Landen Burch came in to save the day, throwing six scoreless innings out of the bullpen to allow the Bucs to get back into the game before Mr. Clutch Victor Figueroa blasted a three run home run in the 8th to put the Bucs ahead for good as FSW knocked off the Hawks 7-5 in dramatic fashion to begin the series.

Bucs Blowout Titans In Midweek Tilt

Two weeks ago, the Florida SouthWestern State Buccaneers needed extra innings twice to defeat the St. Petersburg Titans in their three game sweep, simply put, Tuesday that was not the case as the Bucs got homers from Nate Earley and Jared Davis and a solid outing on the mound from four hurlers in a 12-2 run rule win to improve to 14-6 on the year.

Bucs Earn Hard Fought Split to Take Series

The #16 Florida SouthWestern State Buccaneers wrapped up a hard fought series with the Indian River Pioneers with a split on Saturday to win their second straight Citrus Conference series to begin the year, falling 3-2 in game one in a walk off before using a late game comeback for a 6-3 win in game two to take the series.

Cardiac Kids Do It Again

For the second straight game the #16 Florida SouthWestern State Buccaneers rode a roller coaster to the finish line at Buccaneers Park in Fort Myers. Thursday it was an 8-0 lead that disappeared before Victor Figueroa hit a 9th inning, game tying home run for the second straight game, before Salvador Alvarez walked the Indian River Pioneers off 13-12 in 12 innings to give FSW their ninth consecutive victory.

Bucs Finish Series Sweep In Dramatic Fashion

Although they won both, the two games the #16 Florida SouthWestern State Buccaneers played against the St. Petersburg Titans couldn't have been much different Saturday afternoon at Buccaneers Park in Fort Myers.  In game one, starting pitcher Jordan Huskey dominated, throwing FSW's first complete game shutout in nearly three years in a 6-0 Bucs win while in game two FSW had to come back from an early 7-0 deficit, getting a two strike, two out, two run home run from Victor Figueroa in the 9th to send the game to extra innings before Nate Earley ripped a two run double to right to walk the Titans off in the 11th for a 13-12 Buccaneers win to finish off the sweep.

Bucs Secure Extra Innings Win To Open Conference Play

The #16 Florida SouthWestern State Buccaneers went the distance and then some Thursday night in their 2024 Citrus Conference opener in Clearwater, forcing extra innings late before winning it 8-5 over St. Petersburg thanks in part to a late strike to the plate from center fielder Justin Thomas to extend the game and a two run double from Nik Pereira in the 11th to win it for the Purple and Aqua.

The A3 Trojans tried to sneak through Fort Myers in their wooden horse on Saturday but they were discovered and made to pay for it by the #16 Florida SouthWestern State Buccaneers as FSW crushed the Trojans 16-2 and 17-1 in a pair of run rules in non-conference action to improve to 6-5 on the year.

Big Hits Missing as Bucs Topped by Chipola

The #16 Florida SouthWestern State Buccaneers had nobody to blame but themselves for Sunday's 9-5 loss to Region VIII rival Chipola as the Bucs left 10 runners in scoring position and issued 12 free passes on the mound to close the 2024 Visit Panama City Beach College Classic 1-3.

Bucs Fall in PCB Classic Opener

One week ago the #16 Florida SouthWestern State Buccaneers opened their 2024 season against the #6 Northwest Florida State Raiders with Northwest putting it on the Bucs to the tune of a 20-10 run rule win. Friday, the two teams met again in the first round of the Visit Panama City Beach College Classic where there were 21 less runs scored in the game, but in the end the result was the same as the Raiders doubled up the Bucs 6-3 to send FSW to the consolation bracket at the event.

#16 FSW Roars Past Lions In Home Opener

Hungry for a win after a frustrating opening weekend, the #16 Florida SouthWestern State Buccaneers took their anger out on the Inspiration Academy Lions in their 2024 home opener Tuesday at Buccaneers Park in Fort Myers, hammering the visitors 11-1 in a seven inning run rule to even their record at 2-2 on the year.

Bucs Split Pair In Early Bird Classic

A day after watching 30 runs get put on the board and 8 home runs fly out of the yard in their season opener against #6 Northwest Florida State, the name of the game watch pitching and defense for the #16 Florida SouthWestern State Buccaneers on Saturday in the Juco Early Bird Classic in Auburndale. In their first game of the day, the Bucs held on late for a 4-2 win over Pasco Hernando before mustering just three hits in a 4-0 loss to Santa Fe to finish opening weekend 1-2.

Bucs Bombed By Raiders On Opening Day

Taking the diamond for the first time in 265 days, things didn't exactly go as planned for the #16 Florida SouthWestern State Buccaneers Friday on Opening Day at Wynn Field in Bradenton.  The Bucs found themselves down 3-0 before they got their first licks and it was 6-0 after an inning and a half before eventually falling 20-10 to the #6 Northwest Florida State Raiders to kick off the 2024 season.
