FORT MYERS, Fla.- High flying Florida SouthWestern guard Ahmed Soumahoro will be taking his talents North to the Peach State next season after signing with Columbus State to continue his academic and athletic career.
Soumahoro burst onto the scene late during his freshman season and carried that momentum over into his sophomore campaign with the Bucs, starting 26 contests for FSW in his second year with the Bucs in 2024-2025. He averaged just under 10 points per game while also pitching in 3.1 rebounds and 3.0 assists per night. He scored in double figures 12 times on the year including a pair of 22 point performances against Daytona State and Polk State in early February.
He joins a Columbus State squad coming off of a 27-5 campaign that included Peach Belt Conference Championship and a trip to the NCAA Southeast Regional.
Soumahoro is one of five players off the Bucs 2024-2025 squad who have signed at the next level thus far, joining Jafeth Martinez (USC Upstate), Chol Machot (Charleston), Breno Silva (Barry), and K'jei Parker (UMass).
